More Pictures!

Jasper and I went for a walk along the SeaWalk this morning, and I brought the camera along. So without further ado: Our Walk. (There are no captions, because I don't really have anything to say; I know nothing about the things I took pictures of - I just thought they were neat!)

A few pictures

I was looking at my camera, and discovered I had a few photos on it I hadn't posted yet. So, in yet another incredible display of narcissism - here I am! Oh - and the shoes are another new pair I picked up. Aren't they so cute?? Michael calls them my "money shoes." Does that mean I'm supposed to wear them while I stand on the street corner? ;)

Ahoj

Hi guys - things have been busy here , but I haven't done anything too exciting. I saw X-Men III last night, and it was good. I do love Hugh Jackman. (Did I spell that right?) This morning I ran errands and did laundry and watched DEGRASSI (*what's to be afraid of/I can ask a question/and maybe even bend the rules*). Now I'm hanging out, psyching myself up for my interview this evening.

Since not a lot's happened, I ganked another survey from Keely, and shall forthwith fill it out. Loveyouall!

:)

Bonjour mes amis!

I have to leave for le work in a few minutes, but I felt I should update the ol' blog. So here I am - updating. Only not so much has happened... but that's Ok!

The man with the summer camp program phoned today! That's all I'm saying for now - but good vibes next Monday at around 17.00 would be appreciated. :)

It's cold and rainy today, so I don't think that work will be very busy. I hope that time doesn't drag too much - I'd better take a book with me. Funny how people don't want to come outside for an ice cream when it's chilly out. ;)

Ok. I honest to goodness have nothing to report. Darn. I'll try to have something exciting happen tonight - maybe a deep fryer could catch on fire? No, no - too dangerous. Maybe just some melty ice cream, or a wrap that won't stay together (as if that's out the ordinary. I'm not a wrap artist. I'm a wrap desperado).

Loves you!
Elizabeth

New Shoes

Hi all! Not much is new here in CR - I worked Sunday, then yesterday it rained and we did the grocery shopping, and today it's been raining, too. I spent this morning doing laundry and cleaning my room, and I'm hoping things will clear up a bit so I can outside for a while. The rain has now quit - but it still looks windy and cold. :(

My Prague eurotrash runners were not being comfortable anymore, and were therefore not so good for a job where I spend all eight hours on my feet running around. Michael suggested I get some Holey Soles - and here they are:

They really are this orange. Aren't they cute? They're also super comfy, and I can't wait to try them out at work. Of course I'll have to wear socks with them there, but that shouldn't be too bad!

Again, they really are this orange. They're like the brightest pumpkin ever! The strap flips back so that it goes around your heel, making them more shoelike.

Not much else is new here. I'm waiting to hear back from a man who wants to interview me about working with a summer camp for special needs kids, which I think would be an awesome experience. He called me and left a message, then I had to wait for the long weekend to go by (I hate waiting - I'm so impatient!), then I called him and left a message - now it's his turn. I hope he calls today!

Love you all,
Elizabeth

Monster Trucks!!

On Friday, we roadtripped to Victoria for some shopping and to see The DaVinci Code. Sorry I didn't see you, Michelle - but we only had the one day! The movie was excellent, and we also had some good food and beer! :)

Amy passing the time.

Michael driving. He makes such a good chaufeur.

Jasper and I riding in the backseat. She slept in my lap all the way there... and all the way back. :)

Then, on Saturday - I went to the Monster Trucks!! Yay! N. from work mentioned wanting to see them, so I jumped on that bandwagon. It was so much fun, and now I have a friend! (Yes, I'm 22. It's also been a quiet few weeks, and it was so great to go out with someone not obligated by blood or marriage to spend time with me. *lol*)
N. and I at the Monster Trucks. Look at those smiles!

Jurassic Attack!

Jurassic Attack takes on the buses.

Figure 8 cars. They race - wait for it! - in a figure eight! Since the path crosses over itself, there are many crashes. So much fun to watch. :)

More Figure 8 cars.

Claimer Cars. You pay $700, and then you can race it the next night. We bet on these guys - I won once, and N. won once. Huh. So much for getting ahead!

Double decker car race! The goal: get across the finish line first, with your car still on your roof.

The mercedes won! After he crossed the finish line, he took the first corner a little quick, and lost his roof accessory. :)

Wheel to wheel 4x4 racing. These guys got some major air off the jump on the second corner. There was even some sparkage!

So: so far, a good May Long weekend. I have to work this afternoon, and likely tomorrow. I don't have my schedule yet, dagnabit. Hope I can get that today!

Love,
Elizabeth

Pictures of the Pier

Hi all! I took my camera to work tonight, and got some photos of the Pier for you. Hope you enjoy them! We like to work hard...

N. and J., working hard:

So what do you start with when building that perfect ice cream cone? The cone! We make our own at the Pier - but I don't really know how to. Hence, N. is making them in this photo:

Where do we keep them? In the cupboard! I'm mortally afraid of this cupboard. Each cone costs $0.40 to produce, and I'm terrified I'll open it and they'll alllllllll come rolling out.

What comes next? Ice cream! We have two freezers full, plus an additonal freezer for the frozen yogurt ingredients (not pictured here).

We have: (clockwise from top left): cotton candy (so delish), vanilla, orange creme, Kit-Kat, chocolate chip cookie dough, Rolo with peanut butter, New York cherry cheesecake and Triple Brownie Delight.

We also have: Smarties, rum and raisin, chocolate, maple walnut, Rolo, butterscotch ripple, raspberry gelato (nothing like European gelato), and a peek of the tiger tiger (orange with black licorice - say it with me people: "eww")

Finally we have: the edge of the chocolate, chocolate espresso flake, boo boo bubble (eeew), black cherry , mint chocolate chip, tiger tiger, cookies and cream (oreos in vanilla ice cream) and strawberry. Enough choices for you?

All of the intensive scooping and making of wraps and brewing of coffee leads to dishes. Lots of them. Poor J. kept doing them all night long.

See how it's sunny here?

And pitch dark here? Uh huh. Poor girl.

We get some spectacular views where I work.

Out the front window (I hope to get one of a sunset one of these days, but we're usually pretty busy at that time - darn!)

Out of the back window:

Out the side window as a cruise ship cruised by:

One final question: Why is it hot in an ice cream shop?

Answer: Because we have TWO (usually three) waffle irons, TWO deep fryers, and a radio full of hot, hot music - all in one small space:

Love y'all. Hope you liked the tour!
